Frequently Asked Questions

If you are unable to find an answer to your question below, please contact us by email.

What is an escape room?

An escape room is a real-life puzzle experience, where a group of two or more players try to solve a series of mental and physical challenges. Think Crystal Maze or, if you (sadly) have no idea what that is, watch our brief intro video to escape rooms here. Then go and watch some Crystal Maze.

How many people can your rooms accommodate?

Our rooms are built for groups of 2 to 6 people. No ducks allowed… Don’t ask...

But I have too many friends! Can you cater for groups of more than 6 people?

Lucky you! Get in touch and we’d be more than happy to discuss your super-social requirements.

When should I arrive?

Please arrive 15 minutes before your booked time slot. We’ll deduct time from your hour if you’re late... Kidding!!

Where are you located?

Folkestone town centre. See our location below:

Locked In Escape Rooms based in Folkestone, Kent

What should I wear?

Clothes are a good start. Casual clothing is recommended, along with some comfy shoes.

Are there any age restrictions

Anyone 10 or above can use our rooms, however we will require one of your group to be 18 or over

How long does each room take?

The entire experience will take roughly 1.5 hours, including time to get you settled in and a let’s-talk-about-how-fun-that-was de-brief once you’re done. If you’re thinking about parking machines, opt for two hours (or three - we’re right by the sea if you fancy a nice stroll).

Is an escape room scary?

There may be surprises during your experience but our escape rooms are made to challenge rather than scare. The door to your room will never really be locked so that you can exit the room if you ever wish to.

Are there any actors in the rooms?

Not unless you bring some with you.

Is an escape room appropriate if I am claustrophobic?

Our rooms are quite large but you may need to pass through some crawl spaces. You’re welcome to leave the experience any time you need to. Feel free to contact us for further details.

Can I play if I have a disability?

Unfortunately our rooms are only accessible by stairways, which does prevent wheelchair access. If you have any disability that you think may affect your experience, feel free to contact us by phone or email and we’ll see what we can do.

Do you provide for corporate team building events?

We sure do! For corporate events please contact us directly via email at info@locked-in.co.uk.

Do I need to book online or can I just walk in?

We’d prefer you to book online or by phone. We don’t allow walk-ins but you’re welcome to come in and book in advance whilst we’re open.

Can I pay when I arrive instead of online?

You can pay when you arrive but we do require a deposit of 50% online. We accept cash, card, Apple Pay and contactless - Hefty discounts available if payment is made by Owl

What times are your rooms open?

We are open from 6pm to 10pm weekdays and 10am to 10pm on weekends. Please arrive 15 minutes before your booked time slot.

What are the prices for your rooms?
